Description: The Liberal Express Tour is gaining momentum as it travels across Canada this summer. Michael Ignatieff is leading the Liberal Express across the country, connecting with Canadians and showing them a clear alternative and an inspiring new vision we can all support. This Friday, August 20th, the Liberal Express comes to South Vancouver Island and it’s making a stop in Victoria and the Saanich Gulf Islands in Sidney.

Michael Ignatieff will join current Liberal Candidate for Victoria, Christopher Causton at Serious Coffee in the Cook Street Village on Friday from 4:00-5pm. Michael arrives at 4pm sharp, and then he and Christopher and the rest of the Liberal team will walk north on Cook St returing to the bus for the 5pm departure to Sidney. Supporters are encouraged to come and join Christopher between 3:30pm to 3:45 at the Serious Coffee shop (at the corner of Cook and Oxford, across from the Beagle Pub).

At 5pm, the Liberal Express heads off to Sidney and the Mary Winspear Centre from 5:30pm-7:30pm where Michael Ignatieff will be joined by Dr Renee Hetherington, Liberal candidate for Saanich- Gulf Islands. Come catch all the excitement at this free informal outdoor gathering. Meet members of the federal Liberal BC Caucus and legendary Team Canada goalie Ken Dryden, MP for York-Centre. There will be lively entertainment with Holly Arntzen, Kevin Wright, David Sinclair and Steve Moyer of the Artist Response Team.

The Liberal Express will also be visiting the University of Victoria’s Institute for Integrated Energy Systems at 2pm on the 20th.

Description: meet Michael Ignatieff on Friday, August 20. As part of his cross-Canada Liberal Express bus tour, Michael is coming to Victoria.   We expect Michael to arrive in the Cook Street Village at 3:45 and then “mainstreet” with Christopher Causton until approximately 5:15. The details as to exactly where Michael will meet us are now being worked out. I’ll send you those details soon, but please plan join us in the Cook Street Village area at 3:45 pm. Also, plan to wear at least one piece of red clothing!

We are holding a reception on Thursday at the Tri-Riding Campaign Office, 754 Mann Avenue for members of all three south Vancouver Island ridings.  Refreshments will be provided.  We start at 4:30 and this is a chance to see our new summer outreach centre and  to meet Mark Holland MP.  Mark is a remarkable MP who, at 36 years of age, has been representing the Riding of Ajax-Pickering, Ontario  for the past two elections and is the Public Safety critic.
